Who calls me?!
- Help combat and report telemarketers,
SCAM artists, unidentified suspicious charities, or any companies
that do not respect your time! -
Are you tired of getting unwanted, unwelcome
calls asking for donations, surveys, internet marketing, or worst
yet, for offering great "deals" crafted by SCAM artists
for the sole purpose of stealing your hard earned money? With
regarding to a resident phone number, you can always register the
National Do Not Call Registry, combining with screening unidentified
calls. But unfortunately, if this is a business phone number
(obviously you will want to advertise your business contact
information), you are almost guaranteed to receive at least one
telemarketing call at one point.
Just today, We receive a message from some guy
name "Tony" representing himself as follows:
"Hi, I'm Tony, I'm actually calling on behalf
of "Google." Your site definitely shines on top of the Google search
engine listing on relevant, related keywords. We just opened up a
marketing champagne on this segment on these keywords last week, and
we are looking to put one site on the top first page... blah, blah,
blah, call us back at xxx-xxx-xxxx"
I'm sorry guys, but, Google does NOT call
people! Without a doubt, this is a blatant SCAM artist who was
trying to misguide people into believing him that "Wow, he is with
THE GOOGLE" and signing up some expensive, yet bogus internet
marketing services. This wasn't the first time we got calls from
these kind of timewasters (and we won't be the last one on these people's
calling list either).
So we did a phone number check on this guy. And
here is a site we would like to recommend; its called:
Whocallsme.com
This is a great website to check reports on any phone numbers. We
typed in the phone numbers (recorded by our caller ID) from this
guy, and sure enough, someone else already reported and commented on
them! You too can help by reporting a SCAM phone call. Simply click on "report
it" on their website and fill out the form. Comment as much details
as you can to help the others.
Another alternative to
Whocallsme.com is 800notes.com It
functions similar to Whocallsme.com and also includes news and
articles related to telemarketers and SCAM artists.
Also, do you know that sometimes, you
can identify the source of a suspicious telephone number by simply
typing in the phone numbers in the Google search engine? Based on
just phone numbers, Google can sometimes find the associated source
of a phone number. This will help you find out more about who these
people are.
